Sherlock Holmes het
"Dubious and Questionable" by Spockside   ACD, Holmes/Adler, NC-17.
Wonderfully-written Sherlock Holmes story, in which Irene Adler comes to him with a proposition. Yes, it's that kind of proposition. The tone is perfectly in keeping with the original stories by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, except for the addition of super-hot porn.

"Genevieve" by CSI Clue.
ACD, Sherlock/OFC.
Sherlock frequents a bookstore run by a shy, charming female. Again, adherence to the tone of the original stories makes this a beautiful and sexy story.

"Sustain (Or Concerto for the Famished in D Minor)" by MaybeAmanda and OneMillionandNine. BBC Sherlock. Molly/Sherlock NC-17.
It's not easy to get Molly Hooper and Sherlock Holmes together - their characters are created to be a mismatch of UST. So when someone does it flawlessly, keeping both completely in character through a long story involving not only sexual involvement but even pregnancy and domesticity, it's a real treat. Utterly engaging and satisfying.

Sherlock Holmes slash
"The Progress of Sherlock Holmes" by ivyblossom. BBC Sherlock, S/J NC-17.
Sherlock's pov. John marries serial cheater Mary, who knows all about his attraction to Sherlock. Beautifully written in the cadence of the BBC's TV show.

"Performance in a Leading Role" by Mad_Lori. BBC Sherlock, S/J, NC-17, AU.
Log: AU BBC Sherlock. Sherlock Holmes is an Oscar winning actor in a career slump, John Watson is an Everyman actor trapped in date movies. When they are cast as a gay couple in a new film, will they surprise each other? Will their on-screen romance become reality?
I hate AU's. I just feel like if you want to write an original story in an original scenario, just write it. But this story breaks the mold. It was brilliantly written, the characters were true to their canon voices, and the story was irresistible. I kept thinking someone should option this story and make it into a real movie (changing the names of Watson & Holmes, obviously). Really fantastic.

"Behavioural Modification" by bendingsignpost. BBC Sherlock, S/J, NC-17.
Brilliant story of asexual Sherlock manipulating John into a loving relationship. Sherlock's unreliable narrator is mesmerizing. A truly original and fascinating read.

"The Road Less Traveled" by verityburns. BBC Sherlock, S/J, NC-17.
Sherlock realizes that John's dating habits involve an unacceptable level of risk... what if he meets an unusually tolerant woman and ends up getting married? Features Machiavellian!Mycroft and HatefullyDevious!Sally.

"A Matter of Degrees" by Sophiahelix. BBC Sherlock, S/J, NC-17.
I'm a sucker for Virgin!Sherlock/Straight John, and this delivers with sensitivity. Beautifully written, with great tenderness towards the characters we love so much.

"The Great Sex Olympics of 221B" by XistentialAngst
.  BBC Sherlock, J/OFC, S/OFC, S/OMC, J/OMC, NC-17 like whoa.
Starts out as a crack fic, turns into a psychological analysis of sexual desire, ends as a love story. Brilliantly captures our leads, with a wonderful depiction of a John with nerves of steel, plus vivid original characters. Plus the sex is thrilling.  One of the best BBC Sherlock stories I've ever read.

"The Fundamental Things Apply" by raina_at. BBC Sherlock S/J PG.
Log: Sherlock counts the kisses he's stolen from John while high or injured. John doesn't.
Sherlock's pov, with wonderful characterizations for both of them. BAMF!John is a treat.

"A Quiet Murmuration" by cathedral_carver. BBC Sherlock S/J G.
Just pay me back with one thousand kisses.

"As Though His Heart Were Breaking" by veronamay. BBC Sherlock S/J, G, Post-Reichenbach.
Sherlock returns, and John's got his Stiff Upper Lip firmly in place.

"The Sky For the Reaching" by lavvyan.  BBC Sherlock S/J, PG.
Falling-in-love fic with perfect characterizations.

"Alone on the Water" by Mad_Lori
. BBC Sherlock S/J, PG, Death fic.
A classic of the fandom: Sherlock is diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor and relies on John to see him through to the end. Bring your hanky.

"His John" by Livia_Carica. BBC Sherlock S/J, G.
Summary: Sherlock muses on Solider John and his John. Loosely written for this kinkmeme prompt, except it got thinky
Synopsis from ficoverload, where I found this rec: Short and fluffy. This is wonderful—it’s like a stealth hurt/comfort fic, where Sherlock takes care of John without John noticing. Plus, there are cuddles.

"The Yearly Revolution" by anarmydoctor. BBC Sherlock S/J, G.
Summary: Sherlock walked smoothly through the seasons, without noticing them, without endorsing them — busy Sherlock, unseasonal Sherlock.  Until John Watson arrived in his life. To revolutionize it.
Poetic.

"Seeds" by the sardine. BBC Sherlock, S/J, G.
Summary: In a fit of boredom Sherlock plants some seeds, may or may not eat one cracker, and definitely waxes dramatic on the sofa for a while. Humor.

"My Phone's On Vibrate For You" by misslucyjane.  BBC Sherlock S/J, NC-17
Summary: Sherlock texts John all the time. This time's different.
Great Sherlock voice in this, and the sorting-out-what-we-are part was thoughtfully done.

"Curious Case" by Cleo2010.  BBC Sherlock S/J, NC-17
Summary: After burning his hands, Sherlock's unable to release his 'tension' in the usual manner. Who should he turn to? His totally, completely straight friend and flatmate who's totally not into Sherlock at all.  PWP with a hint of plot.
One of the hottest stories I've ever read. Periodically had to take a break, due to overheating. Plus perfect characterization of Sherlock.

"Echoes Through Time" by chellefic. BBC Sherlock S/J, ACD S/J, NC-17
Summary: Mummy sends a trunk from the Holmes cottage in Sussex to 221B. Its contents alter the way John and Sherlock see themselves and one another.
Beautifully written story in which Sherlock finds out he had a great-uncle Sherlock, who had his own John Watson, and they shared the love that dare not speak its name. Excellent voices throughout, and the ACD sections were a rare treat, perfectly written in the style of the original stories. Sexy, tender, and beautifully paced.

"Exhibit" by berlynn_wohl. BBC Sherlock S/J, NC-17, established relationship.
John wants to go to a museum exhibit, but Sherlock wants to fuck. What ensues is the most hilariously in-character sex scene, full of complaints and accusations.

"What To Do When Your Flatmate is Homicidal" by hyacinth_sky747.  BBC Sherlock S/J, R.
Sherlock takes dating advice from Molly, who has taken it from Cosmo.
Really hilarious and bizarre Sherlock POV, really sexy seduction of John Watson, and great characterizations for all. The delicacy with which Molly's crush on Sherlock is handled, and how they become bestest girfriends, is inspiring. Also the section with Mycroft having a thing for John is so very good.

"Mummy, No Thank You" by Unloyal_Olio. BBC Sherlock, S/J, NC-17, Omegaverse.
Summary: Mummy Holmes arranges a marriage for Sherlock. Since Sherlock refuses to meet anyone properly, she must go to one of the breeding camps where older omegas are kept. She finds John Watson. Sherlock and John get along fine, but Sherlock refuses to marry and breed. Mummy decides that John should marry and breed with Mycroft if Sherlock doesn't want to. Sherlock is not happy at all. Thus, a p0rny, case-ficky, dark comedy.
I can't believe I got into the Omegaverse, but the primal sex is hard to resist. The characters in this one were sassy and prickly and the dialogue was funny and lively.

"How To Tame Your Dragon" by Mad_Maudlin.  BBC Sherlock/Dragon AU, S/J, NC-17.
Sorcerer!Sherlock sets out to trap himself a pet dragon. Said dragon turns out to be far more interesting than he initially anticipated.
Amazing world-building, characters perfectly themselves even within a Fantasy context, smartly written and blazing hot sex. What more can a reader ask for?

"Sick Fic" by LittlePippin76.  BBC Sherlock, eventual S/J, PG-13 in parts for male affection & vomiting, but mostly gen.
Hilarious series of stories of John, Sherlock, and their friends and relations, getting sick.
I never thought I'd so richly enjoy a story with so much vomiting. So, so much vomiting. The dialogue is hilarious, the characters are delightful, and the ending was heartwarming.

"Evidence of Human Life" by thesardine.  BBC Sherlock, SJ, NC-17.
Gorgeous story of S&J getting stranded on a desert island and fighting to survive.
Deep, intense, vivid, and atmospheric. I believe the description is that Sherlock loses his mind while stranded on a desert island, but as Sherlock is our unreliable narrator, his sanity is questionable even before they get to the island.  Unforgettable scenes. I read it, then re-read it immediately.  Now look at these beautiful illustrations by reapersun for this story.

I Know Him So Well by mescribble. BBC Sherlock, Mary/John, S/J unrequited
Summary: John is getting married. Angst-angsty-angstangst.
Told from Sherlock's point of view, as he stands at John's side on the day of his marriage. Written well before S3 spoilers, but even more timely now. Poignant & painful.

Cabin Pressure
"A Team Effort" by Cleo2010. Martin/Arthur/Douglas, NC-17.
Summary: Written for a prompt on the CP Meme calling for Douglas or Arthur assisting Martin in 'letting go' when he's just too tense and stressed to get off.  So I gave Martin both.
This is scorching like whoa.... Masturbation stories tend to really hit my buttons, and the characterizations here are wonderful. Martin is tense and vulnerable, Arthur is sweetly generous, and Douglas is the sly fox we know and love.

"Unexpected" and "Unscheduled" by Lockheed_London. Martin/Douglas, omegaverse, NC-17.
For this prompt: When Martin suddenly goes into heat on a layover, Douglas is frantic to make him not be afraid of him.
Really wonderfully done hurt/comfort, in which Martin's desperate fear of a non-con encounter is checkmated by Douglas' kindness. The sequel is also great, and perfectly captures the irrationality and irritability of a person in the grip of a hormonal surge.

"What Happens in Schiphol" by Lady_t_220.  Martin/Douglas NC-17.
Summary: Martin drunkenly confesses his inexperience and Douglas can't get it out of his head.
Perfect characterizations of both of them, culminating in an ultra-sexy slow makeout session.

"Prague" by Basingstoke.  Martin/Douglas NC-17.
Summary:  After the (admittedly hilarious but far too nerve-wracking) trip to Ottery St Mary, Martin returned to work the following morning.  Funny & fast-paced & light-hearted & hot.

"Sotto Voce" by Lockheed London.  Martin/Douglas NC-17.
Prompt: Martin is completely silent during sex, except just before he orgasms, when he lets out a stream of quiet little whimpers and helpless moans. This drives Douglas wild like nothing in his long and varied sexual experience ever has before.  Then he finds out why Martin makes only those noises, and it changes everything.
Great depictions of Martin and Douglas, with a deliciously angsty core to Martin's problem.
