And I really hate Ezri. I don't want to, but her character is so annoying.
It's a shame because Nicole is a much better actress than Terry was - she's got great timing, is genuine and believable and of course, easy on the eyes. But her character is so clueless and self-absorbed. Every word that came out of Garak's mouth in "Afterimage" was met by her musing on her own failings and situation. Ugh!
Then the scene at the replimat with Julian. "If Worf hadn't come along, it would have been you." I know she's young, but she has Jadzia's memories - how could she be so clueless that she didn't know how much her "assurance" would hurt him? Again, the actress sold me on her intentions, but it was just too thoughtless to be forgivable. Does she have to be such a bumbler? I don't know why the writers couldn't have made her a competent officer, like all the other characters. It would have been easy to preserve the conflict that her presence created, even if she was considerate and accomplished.
Sid was amazing in that scene, too, and in the following scene in the infirmary when he got jacked up against the wall by Worf. My heart went out to Julian, and to Worf. I'm just praying that Ezri's going to get a little less annoying as the season wears on. Because right now, every time she speaks, I'm like...
